The Malibu Times profiles the race to replace term-limited Fran Pavley in the California State Assembly. Despite being the last candidate to enter the race, Jonathan Levey raised $233,000 in just 3 months - more than any of his 4 opponents showed in their June 30 report (though one candidate’s total benefited from a self-loan of $100,000). The Times mentions some of Levey’s endorsements, too:
Pasadena Sen. Jack Scott has endorsed Levey’s campaign, as have Los Angeles Community College District Board of Trustees member Georgia L. Mercer and former Congressman Mel Levine.
I’ve enjoyed getting to know Jonathan these last few months and I think the voters of this coastal district will, too. He’s smart like nobody’s business, honest and hard-working. He’s got a lot of ideas for the district and the resources with which to share them. He’ll make an excellent Assemblyman.
