South Texas Journal: Let the Tit for Tat Begin
As previously noted, I expect Richard Raymond and Henry Cuellar to steadily build to a mudslinging crescendo as they fight to hold on to their shared base in Laredo. To the winner goes the chance to enter the runoff with Ciro Rodriguez, who will have remained relatively splatter-free in his own base of San Antonio while building grassroots support district-wide.
The San Antonio Express-News reports on a early example of the tit for tat we can expect from Raymond and Cuellar: who really first came up with the idea of expanding emergency operations?
“It isn’t as though we’re taking a shot at Raymond,” said Cuellar spokesman T.J. Connolly. “But what Raymond has said he’d like to do, Henry was actively working on months ago.”
This is just the beginning, I’m sure. It will get a lot more fun.
