Republican Texas State Rep Gene Seaman is flailing to disparage his Democratic challenger and friend of Araceli’s and mine, Juan Garcia:

During an interview about the race for District 32 State Representative, Republican incumbent Gene Seaman tried to shoot down Democratic opponent Juan Garcia’s Naval flight record.

“He’s not a fighter pilot,” Seaman asserted. “He never flew jets, he flew P-3s.” (from the Corpus Christi Caller-Times)

Here’s a photo of a P-3, the type of plane Garcia flew during 13 years of active service.

As Capitol Annex writes, it’s not exactly a Cessna.

Seaman recognizes he’s up against a challenger of unusual quality - a candidate who would be a star no matter where he was running. By stooping this low to attack Garcia, Seaman only elevates him.
