Bringing the Bounce Back to City Hall

I wasn’t even 10 years old when Tom Bradley was elected Mayor of Los Angeles in 1973. And my interest in politics at the time was purely national - I was obsessed with Watergate and I even used the reel-to-reel tape recorder I got for Christmas to record Richard Nixon’s resignation speech. By the time Bradley had entered my consciousness, he was well into his sixties - I remember him as dignified and statesmanlike. So I was surprised, while listening to Bradley’s campaign manager on KPCC this afternoon, that Bradley was known for being as energetic, indefatigable and tough to keep up with as the current mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa.
Who knew?
